I found this game that I could use on my interactive whiteboard in my classroom.  It is simple but the timed element might appeal to some students.  Here is the link.

Here are some patterns and hints for memorizing this times table from Dr. Mikes Math Games for kids.

You tube has lots of links.  Here is one of many.

Mental Mathematics

Years ago when I was subbing in French Immersion classes, I found a mental mathematics program called "jogging de tete" and have been looking for similiar question in English. Finally, I found it tonight.

There are questions for children at each grade, one through eight, and they are in PDF format for easy printing.

Here is the link to Heartland AEA 11 Mental Math Activities.

Math Ideas for the Start of the Year

Grade school teachers can use math to introduce children to their classmates. I found this link from Proteacher with some simple games, such as "How much is your name worth?" and an activity with Skittles. Skittles are great because they are nut and gluten free. Anyway, check out this link and send me your favourite links if you have any.
